Yellow and White Damask Cake

This was my first time trying to do the damask pattern on a cake. It was so much fun and I'm pleased with the design. The cake is an 8x8 inch square chocolate cake with raspberry filling from scratch. The cake is covered with buttercream and the damask pattern is also buttercream.

This looks great! Would you be willing to share your technique? I'm a SAHM that does a little cake decorating on the side. I have an order coming up for a damask cake so I'm trying to figure out how to do it. Thanks so much!

Hi Tara...thanks very much for your nice comments. I followed a tutorial from one of my favorite bakers...she is so inspiring...a lot of my work is inspired by hers..Melody from My Sweet & Saucy Shop...the link to her tutorial is here:

i used butter cream she used royal icing its up to you what you want to do..you need to remember to use a CRUSTING Buttercream to prevent the stencil from sticking.
